Driven primarily by blockchain technology, new efficient ways of funding and investing in businesses have emerged, creating new digital assets and tokens. The tokenisation of real-world assets will be the next phase of this evolution – not only unlocking liquidity and creating secondary markets for assets that are currently hard to trade, but also disrupting traditional financial markets too.
Existing token trading venues have primarily targeted the retail space. The traditional institutional investment community has not been catered for, as this new emerging world lacks the regulated systems, controls and processes that they expect.
